DOGS OF WAR (2021)

Screenplay by Miriam Kruishoop; directed by Simon West

Dogs of War is a powerful coming of age story: we witness a boy grow into a troubled man who has seen way too much for someone his age. Set in The Afghanistan War: the film reveals an intimate insight into the surreal combination of deadly firefights, and camaraderie as the Marines try to push back the Taliban, culminating in the deadly Battle of Marjah (2010). Through Jeff’s eyes we experience the chaos and violence of war, but also in a government who discards the powerful bond between man and dog that is made on the battleground. Dogs of War has the relentlessness of Lone Survivor, Black Hawk Down, Platoon and Hacksaw Ridge. And like the best war movies, it laces action and humanity and asks questions that haunt and provoke.

Written by Miriam Kruishoop (Warriors, Vive Elle, Under the Palms, Da Silva)

Director: Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The General’s Daughter, The Mechanic, Con Air)

Producer: Simon Fawcett (Lone Survivor, Bronson, Flatliners); Robert K MacLean (Criminal Law, Bright Angel)
